Con un precio inferior a los 2.500 euros podemos encontrar esta pequeña cámara de cine, con objetivos intercambiables que nos da una gran calidad de imagen y nos abre una puerta a las posibilidades de creación digital que antes únicamente tenían las cámaras de más de 25.000 euros.
Blackmagic incluye la última tecnología del cine digital. Contiene un sensor de 2.5k, grabación en formato RAW y 13 pasos de rango dinámico, que nos va a permitir obtener gran detalle tanto en las luces como en las sombras de las imágenes.
La cámara ha sido optimizada en cada uno de sus componentes para obtener una calidad de imagen profesional. Es compatible con lentes Canon y Zeiss por un lado o Olympus, Panasonic, Nikon, Leica M, C Mount Carl Zeiss, PL Arr por otro lado; puedes elegir las lentes que necesites creando el efecto óptico deseado para cada escena. Existen dos modelos disponibles, que dependerán de los tipos de lentes que quieras incorporar.
La cámara incluye una característica en sus metadatos la cual permite editar la información con los softwares de edición de imágenes más populares tanto de MAC, como de PC.
La cámara incluye el software de edición DaVinci Resolve 9.0 compatible con Mac y PC y del software Blackmagic Ultrascope.
Su diseño consta de un chasis de aluminio sólido cubierto de goma suave para facilitar el agarre y una pantalla táctil para simplificar la entrada de los metadatos.
Algunas películas de cine o series de televisión fueron rodadas con cámaras de fotografía que daban una calidad de video aceptable como Canon Mark II o Mark III; especialmente se utilizaban este tipo de cámaras fotográficas en escenas de acción dónde las cámaras de filmar tradicionales corrían serio peligro. El motivo del uso de estas cámaras fotográficas no era otro que el presupuesto limitado, ya que una buena cámara de cine profesional puede llegar a rondar los 30.000 euros.
Algunos de los ejemplos del resultado de esta fabulosa cámara son: la película Sacrifice de director chino Chen Kaige, que fue bockbuster, el anuncio de la marca de aperitivos Doritos que emitieron durante la SuperBowl de 2012 o la película de ciencia ficción The Intruder que fue premiada en el Dubai Film Festival, el Festival Internacional de Cine de Mexico y el Boston Science Fiction Film Festival.
